Currently, there are a lot of bloggers who are expanding their horizons on other blogging platforms (Which I consider to be a very good thing; because they end up gaining firsthand knowledge of how things on another blogging platform actually work).

Now, do not be confused; it has nothing to do with medium-sized clothing or medium-sized shoes and I not referring to a spiritual medium either; a person who can get in contact with those who transitioned to the afterlife.

The Expansion Of Blogging

Blog

I am one of those bloggers who is always looking on; observing the things that are happening in the blogosphere.

Why do I do that?

I do it, because I believe that the blogosphere is evolving.

Blogging is not the same as it was ten years ago; back then, it was more or less someone's online diary; today it is more than that; it can be viewed as an extensive online magazine; one where you can find a wide variety of things.

• We get information about current affairs.

• We are informed of brand new technologies.

• We are educated about medicine.

• We are taught how to cook.

• We are brought up-to-date on a lot of fashion trends.

• We are brought up to speed in regards to learning a skill.

• We are informed about products that are of a high quality and products that are of a substandard nature.

• We are entertained by poetry.

• We are entertained via music videos.

• We get the opportunity to be entertained by other people's photographs.

• We are kept abreast of what our favourite athletes, politicians, actors, musicians and singers are doing.

The Sky Is The Limit

Where blogging is concerned, an imaginative blogger can take blogging to the next level.

For quite sometime, people have been adding videos to their blogs; the kind that highlights some of the issues that were discussed in their articles; business-rated blogs are filled with that sort of thing and a lot of blogging experts have jumped on the bandwagon too; they use it to disseminate their blogging tips.

So, I would not all be too surprised if the virtual reality aspect of it comes into fruition in the future.

Could you imagine wearing a device on your eyes (something akin to glasses, but way more advanced) that allows you to be in the same room virtually with the person who is giving you blogging tips?

Some of you might be able to comprehend that, while there are those who would think that is the craziest idea that was ever brought across.

Remember, most of the science fiction concepts of yesteryear are now science facts.

So, there is a chance of blogging having that jaw-dropping affect on us in the next fifty years.

Blogging will evolve!

Someone Might Create A New Blogging Platform

Now, there is a chance, that some rich kid with a lot of cash, might come up with the idea of creating a new blogging platform.

Now, do you think that WordPress and Blogger are going to reign forever?

Hmm. I do not. But, if WordPress and Blogger continue to evolve, there is a chance that they would be able to compete with whomever is the next big blogging platform on the world wide web.

At the moment, Kalatu, is one of the newest blogging platforms (And, it could surpass WordPress).

The Conclusion

Blogging will no doubt evolve into something fantastic.

Also, it would not hurt to have additional blogging platforms in the proverbial mix.

And, since blogging is evolving, we might as well get with the program, or get left behind.

For Me It Is Blogger All The Way!

We bloggers do change as time goes along (I know I did).

Who would believe that the WordPress poster-boy would end up being pro-Blogger?

Well folks, I am referring to myself and it is true that I am a former WordPress fan who is now very fond of Blogger.

WordPress Is Always Messing Up

Okay, I still have my WordPress blog and honestly, I could not give a shit about it; I update it whenever I feel like it.

If you have ever used the free version of WordPress, you would know that they are always upgrading — they are always changing things that do not need to be changed (And, that stresses out a lot of the bloggers who are on the free version of WordPress).

By the way, if you have made up your mind to blog on the WordPress blogging platform, please do it on the self-hosted version; you would have greater freedom to do as you are pleased.

Although WordPress is a force to be reckoned with, there are those who grew tired of it and jumped over to another blogging platform.

And, although WordPress is great for those business-type blogs, Blogger is ideal for personal blogging.

Blogger Rocks

In the past, someone said to me, "Renard, if you are serious about blogging, you would choose WordPress."

Okay, at the time, I did not find the statement to be insulting; but if anyone were to say the same thing to me now, there is a chance of me getting offended.

Why?

Because, there are serious-minded, tech-savvy bloggers who blog on Blogger.

If you are skilled at HTML coding and CSS coding, you can make Blogger work for you; which would enable you to tweak your Blogger template for maximum SEO results, or better yet, upload your very own new and improved template on Blogger; therefore allowing you a fair chance of competing with those blogs over at WordPress.

When Was The Last Time That You Checked Out A Blog On Blogger?

Honestly, there are many amazing blogs on Blogger and of course, there are those blogs that make you scratch your head and think, "My God. These people do not know anything about blogging; they are a complete disaster!"

Large numbers of people are joining Blogger on a daily basis and it is a great place for both the experienced and the inexperienced blogger.

And, the most important aspect being is, that it is a whole lot of fun to liaise and network with the Blogger community.

Since, Blogger is my blogging home, I visit blogs on Blogger all of the time.

What About You?

It Would Be Nice If More People On Blogger Defended There Blogging Platform

It is a known fact, that the WordPress fan-boys and fan-girls are the ones who tend to give Blogger a serious pounding; claiming that WordPress is superior and that Blogger is for amateurs.

If those people who have successful blogs on Blogger defended their blogging platform and highlighted all of the good things that they acquired with Blogger, more people would have a greater idea of how good Blogger really is.

I can say with great pride, "I have done quite well on Blogger and success is not exclusive to those bloggers on WordPress."

Now, I want you to digest this fact: there are successful bloggers on WordPress and there are successful bloggers on Blogger and the opposite is also true; there are blogs that have flopped on WordPress and there are blogs that crashed and burned on Blogger.

Dear friend, if you are willing to do all that it takes to see that blog of yours on Blogger become successful, it will become successful (If I can do it, you can do it too).

The Conclusion

The free version of WordPress falls short in comparison to the things that a person can do with Blogger.

The only good version of WordPress is the self-hosted kind (Automattic — the parent company of WordPress — should douse the free version of WordPress with gasoline and light it a fire; since they have so many dissatisfied users).

We need to stop believing the propaganda about WordPress being better than Blogger.

I will admit that there are more themes and plugins available to those on the WordPress blogging platform; but that does not make it superior to Blogger.

If you have chosen to do a business-type blog, by all means use WordPress; but remember, that Blogger is still the boss when it comes to personal blogging.
